    Yeah thats the race hosts
Yeah thats the race hosts fault. But most large tours/races in “civilised” countries have them sorted far sooner 😉

Ben, would you recommend, if someone could do it, getting there, say a week early and going over the course and getting some practice on the climbs?

What about your food intake on the day? Were there plenty of places set up to pick stuff up or was it a case of taking whatever you needed with you?

    Nope, never ridden it, I
Nope, never ridden it, I don’t have the Jens “shut up legs” mentality, If you drop back you are out. Even if you’ve only done 20 miles. As soon as the broom wagon is near you, thats the end of your day because they HAVE to clear the road by a set time. So they just take you off the road.

I’m sure Dave will clear it
I’m sure Dave will clear it up, but they way I read it, we wont see any riders until that race has been opened to the players. So you won’t be able to look at anything or pick a team until the race is opened. Maybe a few days before the race

It will be announced on 24th
It will be announced on 24th October. Here is the best place to find out http://www.asochallenge.com/?language=en

Act 1 and Act 2 are two different stages taken from the TdF and opened up as Etape challenges.

You can read about this years here

    Act 1

    Act 2

From my little knowledge, you have to be very quick to sign up and get a place.

    As for training http://www.sportstoursinternational.co.uk/cycling/etape-du-tour

Very Important Please be aware, the L’Etape du Tour is a serious cyclo sportive. It is ridden at a strong pace and if you are not quick enough, you will be swept up by the Broom Wagon on one of the climbs or even earlier, so it is important to do a lot of training can be focussed in the months preceeding the event. You should be able to ride on the flat at a pace of 25/27kph (minimum) and be able to climb in the mountains at over 12/15 kph, even for the steepest sections, and your stamina really must be good enough to last the full distance. If not, you will fail to finish, which is not what you or the event organisers want. So, you must get yourself a good training plan

No, you won’t have a month to
No, you won’t have a month to decide who to pick for your team.

The races wont open until near the race and once startlists have been confirmed, save changing around all the time. 😉

    Don’t forget how 99-05 looked
Don’t forget how 99-05 looked before Lance was convicted

So taking Armstrong off that, leaves 22/70 riders who have either not doped/not admitted doping/never been caught

To be honest, unless you are
To be honest, unless you are really into pro cycle racing, then you are going to see things like this and come to that conclusion

Thats been updated, not the one I was looking for, but it will do.

This is nearly what I was looking for, from the BBC, but they have not done their research as a couple of riders have been involved in doping and are not marked pink 😕

    Enrique, its simple
    Enrique, its simple though.

Say all 16 riders from the Giro were bumped to values of 3.

There will also be cheaper stars. There will be the few high stars at 40, but more lower priced stars and higher DS’s. So if you can pick 5 x 3 it still leaves you an average of 33.75 for each star.

Take the top star at 40, still leaves you with 31.6 for each of the remaining 3 spots.

Plenty of room for all your riders within the 150 budget and to get the team you want. If you want the top guys, you have to sacrifice your DS chances 😉

I think someone needs to go make their own game rather than trying to shape this one….to lets face it….their own ideas, which very few have agreed with :B
