It’s a shame it never really took off, I used to play a lot and for a few seasons was helping to run the back end. It was a really enjoyable one with the forum interaction. Sadly it never took off mainstream and many sites seem to be running similar now. PCS have their own game, which I believe has become the main fantasy league for most?

    Good luck to everyone, I

Good luck to everyone, I totally forgot about the game. Not one email to say anything about the season starting…etc before the UAE tour. No reminded. Nothing at all from the game, pretty sad, but I’ve now made the choice not to take part this season having missed a couple of races already. Shame, used to be a fun game but seems to have gone stagnant in recent years as people give up.

    NO, only count the LEGAL

NO, only count the LEGAL points. If it wasn’t for those points I’d have won

    Hello.

I cringe every time I hear a commentator (Rob Hatch mainly) say ‘Yoombo’ when referring to Jumbo. ‘J’ in French is NOT pronounced like a Y otherwise, we’d have “yolie” and “Yoomeaux” (pretty and twins), The ‘Y’ I suspect is because they think that as French is a Latin based language – like Spanish and Italian – then it must be correct in French : it ain’t. For example, ‘Jure’ in Latin is pronounced Yoor – but not in French. I suspect that people like Kelly think that Rob Hatch’s pronunciation is right as he claims to be some sort of a linguist. A false claim I think.

What is French about Jumbo being a Dutch supermarket?? He is pronouncing it correctly. Listen in this video how it’s said https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyif93zqkxo

Dennis has been fantastic.  There was those that doubted INEOS signing him, but he has been the perfect super domestique team mate.  Looks genuinely to be enjoying himself in this race.

I spent last night going Dennis or TdG.  Went the wrong way.

There was a time where he could have been winning GC himself, he was always going to be a good domestique if he got the right team and wage. He just didn’t get on with some in his old team and wasn’t willing to work for someone he didn’t have faith in.

What a stage, as much as I

What a stage, as much as I don’t think racing should be happening, that was great. 0:01 between them into the final TT

I glad the break stayed away,

I glad the break stayed away, a bunch sprint over the last 100 metres would have been a crashfest, a dip in the road into a cobble roundabout and a cobbled crossing just before the line. It would have been messy.

All kicked off in Italy today

All kicked off in Italy today then…Lotto and AG2R seemingly didn’t turn up on time for the start, while other teams didn’t want to ride 260km in that weather today after long transfers last night, so the CPA (under pressure) had to ask for it to be shortened and many teams aren’t happy.

    Daniel Felipe Martinez and

Daniel Felipe Martinez and Simon Geschke DNS

That’ll be my first loss from purist team, better than stage 1 I guess…

    Thankfully, I slept in and

Thankfully, I slept in and missed the deadline today, so didn’t put him in. TdG will keep trying, but Guerreiro just has to mark him.

The GC is changing dramatically, so much that the BBC writer must be wetting himself, he’s not mentioned Tao once, but is covering Froome and trying to figure out how he can make 30 minutes back…

Visconti out as a DNS, so

Visconti out as a DNS, so that’s the KOM done now. Guerreiro can’t really lose it.

    Well, it looks like Hugh

Well, it looks like Hugh Carthy is firmly on his own if he wants to go for GC. The nearest teammate was nearly 19 minutes down. AG2R lost another rider today, 3 in the first 2 stages, I wonder if they will complete or find a “positive” to withdraw the whole team.

    I had Trentin and Degenkolb

I had Trentin and Degenkolb in the front, would have had MVDP aswell.

It’s a tough race when you see whole teams DNF

AG2R, Bahrain, Bingoal and Circus – Wanty. A whole raft of teams with only 1 finisher and only 47 getting to the line.

I really hope that it thrives, as it has been useful and interesting. I’m currently on a week’s holiday and riding some routes that were suggested in the forum. I’ve got mechanical questions which I’ll post after I’m home. I’ll surely have other things to say and ask and I hope the community is around for those. Perhaps like many, this site is one I read almost daily. The reviews are the best I’ve found, the news is there, and the comments are usually thoughtful. If the forum is a bit quiet, perhaps that’s a reflection of the news team getting more of the day’s issues into the blog or main stories.

This is what the forum used to be like, it was thriving and useful. People asking and getting advice, looking at it now, it’s just a shell of it’s former self, the “news” articles are generally just clickbait or rehashed things from many a year gone by.

The reviews? Pffft, most look like the general things that companies pay you to “write”, not much off script and when was the last time you read a real review on here or something that was bad?

The whole site seems to be stagnant, just a grind to make money from adverts and companies paying for reviews. It used to be a real cycling place for people, but since it’s turned from more of a hobby site making a couple of people a living into a full commercial site, it’s lost everything, including most of it’s user base it seems.
