Ummm – have you tried, you know, actually measuring it ? Looks about 6 degrees, Google may help here – or a protractor….

Evans are doing the Birzman
Evans are doing the Birzman Zacoo Maha IV for 24 quid (2/3 normal price) at the moment, very highly rated pumps especially the heads..http://www.evanscycles.com/products/birzman/zacoo-maha-iv-track-pump-ec050466
I don’t actually need a new track pump and yet i’m still debating getting one for the Snap-It alone 🙂

I think it’s just the manufacturer playing it safe. I’ve no problems running 90/rear and 85/front.
Spectacular tyres by the way if anyone is looking for a qualility winter tyre.
Agree with that, been using the 25s for some months now and at nearly the same pressures and they’ve been superb.

I run Vredestein Fortezza
I run Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp 23mm at 90/95 and Vittoria Open Pave 25mm + Hutchinson Fusion 3 23mm (tubeless) between 80/85 and 85/90 – never had an off moment as far as tyre integrity goes, the Open Paves could probably go a fair bit lower if the surface warranted it.

Na… probably about 40-45mph. Its different spinning like a loon on a down hill, another when its on the flat… it quickly tires the legs I can assure you..
An amazing feeling though, when you are trying to click to the bigger gear and there aren’t any… when you are pushing the pedals as hard as you can just to stay in there and its on a flat road. Epic. The trick of course is to move up!
I spin out somewhere between 125 and 130 (i’m no track cyclist, that’s for sure) so that’ll be between 75 and 80 km/h on 622-25mm using 53×11. So that’s between about 46 and 50 mph. Downhill ? Yeah, that’d be do-able with a reasonable bit of distance. On the flat ? Nah.. not me. Not for quite a lot of people i’d reckon, for any non-trivial amount of time – you must have legs and lungs like a monster 🙂

of course not serious – other than the need for eye protection each and every time one rides a bike…My humour detector must have been bust – fair enough.

That would solve all of those problems *and* keep your peepers safe…I prefer to avoid as much rain on the glasses (when worn) as possible and prefer not having glasses on in the first place – it’s my preference although I seem to be able to often see better without glasses but with a peak, rather than no peak or sometimes peak + glasses.
You may not agree, but that doesn’t make them pointless.

I’ve found them useful on and off road (cap or helmet peak) to act as a partial shield when it’s pissing it down, especially when i’m trying to get a riddle on – occasionally helpful with high sun and the odd wayward branch.
You seem to have made your mind up, so I don’t expect you to agree or listen to any of that, but thought i’d mention my experience with them anyway.

WTF ? As the person who wrote the question can I now ask you what on earth you thought I was getting at and why the fuck you think it was some ‘kind of sh*t’ that ‘seriously devalues [my] contribution’. Frankly I don’t care whether or not you ‘don’t bother reading anything else [I] say’ but it beggars belief you found something in there that let you know my position on discs one way or the other.
Simon E wrote:ianrobo wrote:Who knows in 3/4 years time what the situation will be then ?With that kind of thinking you could put off many purchases, possibly indefinitely, and never experience the benefit.
Even if a new caliper mounting system is established current brake types will still be replaceable if needed. I’m a true tightwad but I’d stump up and pay the extra for disc as the benefits outweigh the initial cost.
So would I, I happen to be pro-disc due to my experiences with them on and off road. I just wanted to get the OP to clarify why they didn’t like discs as I was thinking it had little to do with a realistic test in mixed conditions – which is sort of the point of discs over rim brakes. That said, if they say they just don’t like them, that’s fine too, it’s their bike and their money.
