You should be able to use a GRX 400 rear mech if you can get hold of one.

A good thing about Ti bikes is that you can order bespoke Ti bike for your needs. If you’re tall or short, if you have a short torso or longer legs — whatever. There’s a bunch of companies happy to create a Ti bike only for you.

Ditto steel, carbon, wood and combinations – i’m also sure there’ someone somewhere offering bespoke aluminium frames, it’s just that i’ve not heard about myself that I remember.

Aye, saw the web page still up – was not sure how rent issue and lock-down(s) etc had affected business.

As an aside, I wonder if there’d be much of a market for upmarket, paid-for cycle parking – covered, locked and manned – maybe even chuck in a shower cubicle too.

MudDock offer that, or used to, at the Bike Shed – not sure how business is now, and they had an issue with a proposed massive rent hike a year or so ago, but it had been going for 15 years or so by then.

‘Theft’ is the wrong word though:

Theft is defined as the physical removal of an object that is capable of being stolen without the consent of the owner and with the intention of depriving the owner of it permanently

It’s the correct word in the UK, outside of Britannica 😉
    Try

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/60/crossheading/definition-of-theft

In particular the definitions in 4 (1) (‘intangible property’) and 5 (1) (‘rights’ and ‘interests’)

..but as Rich_cb says, semantics aside, it’s effecting someones right to benefit from something they own.

Personally, I’m not a fan of intellectual ‘property’ (and technically, you cannot ‘steal’ it as the originater still has it) as it tends to be massively abused e.g. Disney’s never-ending copyright battle to prevent Mickey Mouse from ever entering the public domain.

I’m very much against the abuse of IP and patents in business, but technically there is a ‘theft’ in that what is stolen is intellectual property rights (e.g. exclusivity, design patterns) – the infringing party has take the right for their own use without sign of return or redress – the phrase IP is perhaps not useful in that case, it’s IPR that’s the point. God that’s dull, isn’t it ?….

I think there’s a fair bit of truth in that, although i’m sure they can also have some use or educational value. One thing that grinds my gears is that in all the time they’ve have been posting them, I don’t think i’ve ever heard any road.cc representative actually talk about maybe doing something about it, e.g compiling them or presenting them to a cycling, police or government body, helping organise readers to do similar, provide collated data/resources.
Arguably readers should be doing these things as well (and some do) but it seems a bit off to me to have this obvious revenue line and safety issue and seemingly do nothing to actively improve things… perhaps they do, somewhere, in the background or wherever, but can’t say i’ve noticed anything.

My first thought was no, it’s not going to fly as Shimano 10-speed road and MTB drivetrains use different cable pull ratios (9 speed was OK), but might be close enough to work somewhat for some of the range perhaps…. normal answer is to use a JTek/Lindarets convertor but if Welsh boy has already tried it might be worth getting details from him about what works etc.

    Maybe i’m missing something

Maybe i’m missing something but why are you uploading an un-ridden route to Strava as an activity ? Adding one to something that guides you actually riding it, or to plan a journey, yeah, but as you already have Komoot (and can use other free options) it seems a little bit face about arse.

If you just want to use the GPX for Strava route planning you can use the Strava Labs tool

I’d also maybe have a look at the Tacx training app – it’s improved a fair bit since it took over from their old TTS s/w (which had some good points), the film quality is excellent, the price is quite decent and you can use GPS tracks (upload, link via Strava etc).

Similar here but other way round – run two different 10sp cranksets with 6800 groupset for a few years now, no issues.

As far as I know, yep

As far as I know, yep climbing and satellite shifters should work fine – just plug them in and make sure that they’re recognised in the e-tube app and setup for whatever function you want them. Sprint shifters may be a different story but that shouldn’t effect you, e.g.
