Don’t fall for the hype on
Don’t fall for the hype on kit. It’s not like there’s only one bike that wins in the pro peleton.Nobody ever won a race due to their groupset and don’t race what you can’t replace. If you’re thinking of road racing you might want to start with a slightly cheaper bike for the first season. If it survives then you can use it as a winter bike in later years.

Unless you are good friends with a shop/cafe proprietor who has a secure facility then a safe location for an unlocked bike doesn’t exist. Insurers won’t consider a claim if your bike isn’t locked to something solid.
Cycling into town isn’t the same as a cafe stop. Obviously you lock a bike up in town but for a cafe stop I’ve never bothered.

Do you all wear look cleats ?
Garmin vector pedals and any spin bike will work.
It won’t control the terrain but you don’t need that.fenix
Never understood the benefits
Never understood the benefits of this. Separate kit is much cheaper and convenient. My jackets often don’t need washing but my longs always do. I think you’ve done well to sell it.fenix

Can’t help but think you missed the point here.

My Gabbas rain repellency
My Gabbas rain repellency couldnt handle a summer downpour. I’d not advise it for winter. Dreadful top and I was really keen on it before I wore it.

Pro Viz are not breathable at
Pro Viz are not breathable at all – I’d rule the jacket out – but maybe the gilet over a jacket that fulfils all your criteria bar the reflectivity ?

Just have a pair of shallower wheels for those really windy days that you want to go out on.

There is a running calculator
There is a running calculator I trust that gives about 100 calories per mile run for the averag sized bloke. So if I’m running then 800-900 calories an hour is believable.
If I’m cycling its got to be a lot less than that. Some of the strava claims are ridiculously high. You’d not want to use those as part of a dieting regime !
