Well they are reused. Maybe KMC tell you not to so you buy more – but what would go wrong with them really ?

I know this goes against the n+1 – but you could just replace the crank….. ?

I really dont think its an issue.
Theres a charity ride round here – its only 50 miles but people of all shapes and sizes do it on bikes that dont fit them and aren’t suited and wearing jeans and god knows what.
So he’s time to prepare and he can get the right advice – and there’s a lot of money to be won ?
He should easily do it. Slow and steady.

Proviz is grey though. It’s not a colour for daytime – especially not if it’s dull. Night time brilliant but not in the day. If the sun shines right then it’ll work but you can’t rely on that. You need bright colours in the day.fenix

If you’re cycling in the daytime – reflectives are bugger all use unless drivers are going around with full beams on. And even then I doubt they’d stand out.
Dark kit is awful. Go get some colour – orange, red, yellow. You stand out.
We know how goddawful drivers can be – and with our ageing population – how crap their vision is.
In winter its always bright colours and LED’s on. It costs nothing to charge a light so why wouldnt you use it ?
In order to get good at cycling you need to be consistent. You won’t be consistent if some muppet breaks your leg or something.

Well most of the shared use paths we have round here aren’t exactly on any delivery routes – they’re mainly disused railway lines – so its not going to be used by these things.
Anyway aren’t they all going to be flying the shopping home via drones ?
(I think the star trek transporter idea seems a better bet anyway)

You’re cycling at night with a headlamp but no bike lights ? How little do you value your life ?
As has been said – reflectives very cheap. You can even get black tape that looks well black in daylight but reflects white under headlights.
Make sure thats on your pedals or cranks or both – reflectives down at that level and moving scream out bike.
Go on the tyre valves for visibility from the side.
On the rear – I’d go for two of these. I’d never feel safe with just one light. What if the batteries fail or it breaks –
As has been said – these cree lamps get good reviews :

The problem is you have two
The problem is you have two great holes in any overshoe where you put your feet in. Your legs get wet and water runs down.Wet feet are inevitable. Either from that or just sweat building up inside the shoe.
If you don’t use mudguards then it is really hopeless. Too much spray.
I’ve sealskin gloves – theyre properly water proof. Great for sponging the bike down after a ride. They don’t let any water in.
Either water is running in down the sleeves – are you running the jacket over the cuffs – or its just sweat building up again.

I bought some chinese sky kit – their shorts lasted better than the adidas genuine ones.Shorts is probably worth paying for – DHB or Planet X do good shorts for decent prices.
