    Nope, sorry there just isn’t

Nope, sorry there just isn’t any resolution on that plate. The blue vehicle in the foreground isn’t legible either, although you can at least see smudges on it.

Do you have multiple pictures? It may be possible to stack them. By possible I mean probably  unlikely to yield anything.

You would have more luck hanging out at the same time another day and see if they are a regular commuter.

Seems like a very thin collar

Seems like a very thin collar, looks like it is asking to crack all the way round. Might as well cut the whole thing off and smooth down the edges so you don’t get any stress risers. Then glue a seat post in permanently.

Probably best to get a pro frame fixer look at it rather than take my random opinion though.

How are you going to paint it

How are you going to paint it afterwards? I’ve had fun with spraydotbike acrylic rattle cans. A world away from the old school cans.

Agree with comments above – wet n dry back to a sound smooth surface, no need to go all the way down.

Planet X Space Chicken? Hydro brakes, mounts, significantly cheaper than Ribble for the same spec.

It’s not a grey area. The law

It’s not a grey area. The law is clear.

The bike is an “electrically assisted pedal cycle” (or EAPC, or ebike, or Pedelec) if: the bike has pedals that propel it; the electric motor won’t assist you when you’re travelling more than 25 km/h (15.5mph); and the power doesn’t exceed 250 watts.

Such ebikes can be ridden by those over 14 years old wherever a regular bicycle is permitted.

Ok , found the bike now. Yes,

Ok , found the bike now. Yes, going to a standard MTB with a 22 32 44 would be a good move. 44 on the big ring would give you about 50km/h at 100 rpm (which is spinning fairly fast).

Octalink is an old standard now, so lots of bargains (I still have it my road bike, got some really cheap carbon cranks). There’s a Deore crankset for £36 on Amazon now.

Maybe redrobot is a student’s machine learning project, released into the wilds of this forum (ok maybe not wilds, maybe light undergrowth) to develop new trolling skills. If it starts to pop up with rambling opinions on helmets before concluding that no-one is allowed an 11 tooth sprocket, then the student gets their degree.

I think it may have reused the grammar algorithm from a Minecraft trollbot.

    Redrobot, do you ever find

Redrobot, do you ever find yourself walking into a pub for the first time, pontificating loudly about how you don’t like the decor, the beer, the menu layout, the people drinking there, the elitism of ale drinkers in general, and then ask for help to get your car started? How does that go down?

You’d need to replace the QR skewer with an old schoolnut/ bolt.

No, the trainer comes with a skewer we have established will fit the OP’s bike.

    Miche do 14-30 10 speed

Miche do 14-30 10 speed cassettes for youth racing, but the intention there is to  restrict top gear to meet the roll-out requirement for youth racing. The 14 makes it easier to find a crankset/cassette/tyre combo that land right on the limit of the restriction and gives a nice close set of ratios for racing. Doesn’t help you with the lowest gear though.

Assuming you are not in a youth race, and you want to be able to climb hills more easily, then go smaller chainrings. What do you have currently?

Or you could look at an expander cog for the 40.

Even more exotic, Absolute Black do a set that replaces the lowest 4 gears, and a 13 tooth sprocket that will take a lock ring. Though why they don’t just do a whole cassette there given they have already replaced half of it…
