Controversial Bath bus gate
Controversial Bath bus gate cancelled after backlash
24 residents associations and a GP surgery had warned against the plan
The issue of through-traffic avoiding the busy London Road and using residential streets remains a pressing concern for every resident I’ve spoken to.
Mr Guy added: “A great deal of misinformation has been spread about this draft scheme, which has caused unnecessary confusion and concern among the community. Again, I want to be clear that the aim is to improve our streets and create a safer, more sustainable environment for everyone, but it’s vital that we find a solution that truly reflects the needs of our community.”

This is a bit more like it: Hereford western bypass plan: Councillor Toni Fagan comment
Coun Fagan, of the Green party, told the Hereford Times: “Transport planners have understood for decades that additional capacity encourages more people to drive, quickly filling up the new road space and leading to a return of congestion levels, often worse than before. This proposed road will see additional heavy traffic from the Midlands through communities like Much Birch and Harewood End, already struggling with heavy traffic, high speeds and increased road rubbish.
“The western bypass which will now encompass 10,000 additional houses, will encourage more vehicles. Any relief to the city centre will be marginal and temporary.
“The western bypass also presents other critical issues. It will severely impact Herefordshire’s stability, with no external funding secured and escalating costs from necessary off-setting and engineering requirements.
“The project also undermines the carbon reduction and emissions targets.”

Six-year-old’s lucky escape as car flips in three-vehicle M6 crash
The child was not in a proper seat and banged their head
The photo garnered a strong reaction on social media from those who couldn’t believe the child hadn’t been in a car seat. One wrote: “It baffles me when a parent would put their child’s life at risk like that by even putting them in a car without any car seat!

Traffic wardens across
Traffic wardens across Tonbridge and Malling only visit schools in pairs for fear of assault by parents
In an email to the dad, Ms Smith said: “I sympathise with the problems you have and your safety concerns.
“Civil Enforcement Officers cannot be at every location at the same time or the same location every day as there are over 40 schools in the borough and most have parking issues of some sort.
“This is further complicated where there have been threats of violence and abuse to our staff as we have to make arrangements for police support at the same time.

I usually just screen shot the picture, re-upload and that solves it. I also find some pictures saved from news sites won’t upload and screen shotting or doing a minor edit fixes that

Spare a thought for Phil from
Spare a thought for Phil from Fowey whose cut-through is closed; if only there was an alternative. He’s even done a video.
‘Disgrace’ as commuter road closed for ‘absolutely nothing’
‘I’m disgusted really, they did not have to shut the road until the roadworks started’
“There are other cut-throughs but they are narrower and more dangerous,” Phil said. “It can add to frustrations when people use the cut-throughs and they have the right of way but people don’t know the rules of the road and don’t reverse out the way if you are on a hill.”
