“Following a promotional event outside the Clacton Pier on Sunday evening, the Clacton Breeze Open top bus was driven accidentally under the bridge causing damage to the front of the bus on the upper deck.”
Accidentally driven under the bridge? Did the bridge suddenly jump out in front of the bus? I think it’s a safe bet that the bus was deliberately driven (most of the way) under the bridge, it’s just that the driver either:
- didn’t know what these signs mean
- didn’t know how tall the bus was
- wasn’t good at maths
- was an utter moron

How can driving while disqualified be a momentary lapse? https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/glasgow-news/banned-driver-m8-motorway-hits-24425554%5B/quote%5D
Let me fix their sub-heading:
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that Jonathan Adair was
servingignoring his second driving ban when his dangerous actions led to another motor spinning 360 degrees and crashing near Cardonald.

I had the exact same problem with a brand new chain, after one long gravel ride, just a few weeks ago. Spent ages trying to fix the “ghost shifting” while I was riding via a barrel adjuster, before I figured it out.

Never wear anything under
Never wear anything under cycling shorts with a pad.
I don’t bother with them for short rides (under 40 miles / 65 km) though. Mostly because I’m usually cycling to somewhere and don’t want to either change or wear cycling shorts for hours while not cycling.

Since a lot of things have
Since a lot of things have been eliminated, here’s a less-likely option: is it really ghost shifting, or is the chain skipping a tooth on the rear? Sometimes when riding it’s hard to tell the difference.
Check the entire chain for links that are bound up. Sometimes they will come off the top of the upper pulley, and especially on the smaller cogs will not bend back fast enough to make the corner, making the chain skip a link.

Yup, just think of PP F&F as posting someone an envelope full of cash, except then you could at least know the address you posted it to if it was worth reporting to the police.
Can PayPal even tell you who got the funds? Surely there has to be a bank account on the other end eventually, unless they’re turning around the funds via purchases of gift cards.
On the other hand, if you could claw back funds paid “friends and family” the scam could go the other way. If someone met you to buy a bike you were selling, and you let them pay with PayPal then and there, thinking it was equivalent to cash, they could then file a report later saying they paid you and you never showed up, or something.

I wouldn’t buy a DURA-ACE
I wouldn’t buy a DURA-ACE cassette period. If you’re not racing at a high level, you’re not the target market. The titanium sprockets will wear faster than steel. You’re paying £100 extra to save 60 grams (2 oz) and have to replace it sooner vs. an all-steel sprockets Ultegra cassette.
