Trek’s new Charter+ e-bike is positioned as a premium, comfort-focused platform built around what the brand calls a “rider-first” approach. The range launches with three styles, all featuring a Bosch Smart System, full coverage mudguards and a fully adjustable stem, with prices starting at £3,225.

The Charter+ line-up includes the Charter+ 4, Charter+ 4 Trail and Charter+ 5, with Trek saying the range is designed to make it easier for riders to find a bike that suits their needs, whether for commuting or off-road use.

Both the Charter+ 4 and Charter+ 5 are available with either an internal gear hub (IGH) or a classic rear-derailleur (RD) setup, with the IGH option offering lower maintenance.

The Charter+ 5 models also have the options of pairing an Enviolo IGH with AUTOMATiQ which is a system that automatically shifts your gears based on your preferred cadence, speed, and terrain.

As for the motor, all Charter+ 4 models come with Bosch Smart System Performance drive units with 75Nm of torque, while the Charter+ 5 options are more powerful, offering 90Nm of torque using the Bosch Smart System PX drive units.

Each model is also available with a 540 or 800Wh battery with top assist speeds of up to 25 km/h, like most e-bikes. The battery can be locked into the frame, and slides out upwards from the frame making removal easier for storage or charging on the go. There’s also an integrated handle.

Riders can connect to the Bosch eBike FlowRiders app to access feature like locking, theft alerts, custom ride modes and navigation.

The Trek Charter+ is available in low-step or stepover frame options in most models, and all bikes have a fully adjustable stem and balanced geometry which sits between an upright city bike and a more forward-leaning position.
