After launching an Indiegogo crowdfunder in July, Chinese manufacturer Fiido has raised £1m for its magnesium-framed folding e-bike, the Fiido X.

Fiido previously launched its D11 – which we reviewed here – via Indiegogo and the firm says it has since racked up almost a million sales.

The Fiido X retains the same basic look, but with a few key improvements. These include smoothing the welding joints, simplifying the bike’s wiring and the addition of a keyless security system.

The torque sensor has also had an update to deliver a better riding experience.

The bike’s priced at $1,099 via the crowdfunder, which is due to finish later this month. After that, the price will jump to $1,999.

The latest updates indicate the firm is currently working on the app and also a rear rack for which they’re sourcing feedback from backers.

Fiido says it will also soon unveil its first e-scooter, featuring a sizeable 1,546Wh battery.
