Bosch eBike Systems has added a new navigation function to its Kiox 300 display, bringing improvements to the way instructions are displayed as well as integration with the popular cycle routing app, Komoot. The update can be downloaded free of charge via Bosch’s eBike Flow app.

The headline change sees the Kiox navigation display automatically realigned with the rider’s direction of movement – great news for the Joey Tribbianis among us who need to get into the map.

On top of this, turn-by-turn directions now feature precise distance information to give you a better sense of the turns ahead, regardless of what screen you’re on at the time.

There’ll also be detail about the time remaining until you get to your destination as well as your estimated time of arrival.

Routes can be created in the eBike Flow app or it’s now possible to import them from Komoot by linking your accounts in each.

Bosch have also made a couple of other tweaks, unrelated to routing. The display will now tell the rider whether they are currently riding above or below their personal average power and cadence relative to the ride up until that point. Current altitude, maximum altitude and elevation gain will be visible too.

They’ve also added a gear shift recommendation feature, similar to the one seen on their Intuvia 100 display. This will suggest to the rider when it’s time to change up or down a gear.
