This week, road.cc HQ is stacked with bikes, tyres, pumps, shoes, and clothing all lined up for review. From high-performance gravel bikes to all-weather tyres, performance cycling shoes, electric pumps, and merino-layered clothing, there’s plenty to put through its paces over the coming weeks. Here are the previews, with full reviews coming soon…
Udog Sempre shoes (£160)

If you liked Udog’s Cento shoes that received a 9/10 in their road.cc review, but were put off by the price, the Italian brand’s £160 Sempre shoe is a more affordable option, with a single dial per shoe.
The updated dial system tightens in one direction, and rather than popping it outwards to release the tension, you just turn it the opposite way. The dial pairs with what Udog calls “the thickest and most durable low-power lace in the rotational closure segment”.
It features Udog’s TWS 2.0 Tension Wrap System, a laser-perforated PU upper with a roomy toebox and deep heel cup, and a carbon-nylon outsole with grip and ventilation.
Stu is testing the Total White version, so check back soon for his full verdict.
Dynamic Bike Care Turblo+ Electric pump (£69.99)

Dynamic describes the Turblo+ Electric Pump as “built for the big jobs.” At 472g, it’s far from one of the lightest electric pumps, but it’s not meant for your back pocket. Measuring 48×68×155mm, it’s designed for home use, pumping your tyres up before a race, or taking to training camps.
The Dutch brand claims the Turblo+ can inflate up to 10 28mm road tyres (to 73 PSI) off a single charge – an impressive figure, and if you need to, yu can reach a maximum pressure of 145 PSI. It’s also Schrader and Presta compatible, meaning it’s capable of pumping up car tyres, and it works with Schwalbe Clik valve too.
Dave Atkinson’s full review is coming soon, so check back to see exactly how many tyres he can inflate on a single charge.
Ribble Ultra-Grit Apex XPLR AXS (£2,949)

Over the summer, Ribble launched five new gravel bikes, and we’re currently testing the top-tier Ultra-Grit, developed in collaboration with the Ribble Outliers Pro Gravel Team.
The frame is constructed from a blend of Toray T1000 and M46 carbon fibres and accommodates tyres up to 50 mm at the rear and 53 mm at the front. Other features include fully internal cable routing, compatibility with 1x and 2x drivetrains, and a BSA threaded bottom bracket.
Our test bike comes with SRAM Apex XPLR AXS and is upgraded with Hope RX25 Alloy wheels, bringing the complete build weight to 9,210 g (size small).
Hutchinson Blackbird All Season tyre (£61.99)

Claiming to be the “ultimate all-weather tyre, designed to deliver unmatched performance in every condition”, the Blackbird All Season features a bi-compound tread with a new Safetread compound on the sidewalls, promising grip no matter the weather.
Hutchinson also claims a 6,000km lifespan, making it a good option for year-round riding. The 30mm tyre we’re testing weighs in at 344g on our scales which is only around 80g heavier than the Blackbird Race tyres – Hutchinson’s so-called “fastest tyre” ever.

Velocio Men Luxe Merino Long Sleeve jersey (£167)

Merino wool is used in cycling clothing for its natural ability to regulate temperature, wick moisture, and resist odours, and Velocio’s Luxe Merino Long Sleeve promises all of these.
The jersey can be worn on its own or layered in colder conditions, and it features three rear pockets and a tapered collar for added coverage at the back. It comes in three colours: black olive, plum truffle and cameo blue, with Sam testing the latter for his road.cc review.
