Oakley launches Sutro shades for urban cycling

New wraparound shades designed for urban cycling

Oakley’s brand new Sutro shades have been inspired by urban cycling with a wraparound design to shield eyes from all the debris facing the daily commuting cyclist, with familiar Oakley tech like the Prizm lens.

The new Sutro brings the company’s sport focused technology and design into a collection aimed at urban cycling. As well as these new shades the collection will feature clothing, from jackets to t-shirts, shorts, trousers, backpacks and caps.

Like most modern eyewear designs, the Sutro has a wraparound design and a very large lens to provide maximum protection from the elements and light. The tall lens provides “enhanced peripheral vision and full-coverage protection” something we've also seen on the latest sports-focused eyewear in recent years.

The frame is made from the same O Matter plastic used on all Oakley eyewear, and which is light and hopefully very durable. The Prizm lens has been designed to enhance colour, contrast and detail so you can see the many hazards facing the urban cyclist more clearly.

The new Sutro comes in a wide range of frame and lens colour combinations and costs £120-130.
