Celeste is the colour that iconic Italian brand Bianchi is famous for, but you can now choose its flagship Oltre XR4 in any colour you like.
Bianchi has this week rolled out its online bike configurator called Tavolozza, first enabled on the Specialissima, to the Oltre XR4 allowing you to choose from more than 2,000 colour combinations.
As well as changing the main colour of the frame, you can also choose the colours of the logos. While you can choose the combination of colours, you are limited to the design of the paint job with the inserts along the top tube, seatstays and fork blades.

Bianchi is offering 15 colours for the frame and fork and 14 colours for the inserts, six logo colour choices and the option of a gloss or matt finish. It’s not quite as extensive as some other custom paint options provided by other brands but there’s a good choice available
You can easily change the colour combinations on the website and once you’re happy with the finished bike, you can save it to share on social media as well as getting a unique code. Hand this to your nearest Bianchi dealer and they’ll get your new bike ordered.
The customised Oltre XR4 frames will be hand-painted in Italy, though the frames are still manufactured in the Far East.

These two bikes are ones I’ve quickly put together, what do you think? If you think you can do better why not head to www.bianchi.com/tavolozza/oltrexr4, create your own custom Oltre XR4 and share it in the comments below.

Given the price of top end frames, I’m surprised that most manufacturers do not offer similar customisation as a standard option. It was always possible with bespoke framebuilders before the brands took over.

Fair enough, I suppose.

Probably deliberate. They’re cool bikes but I’d never ride something snot green. Kruijswijk looked terrible on one when he was wearing a pink Giro jersey, yellow Lotto NL Jumbo shorts and red hair.
