Garmin has issued software updates for the Edge 510, 520, 810 and 1000 computers that add a range of new features, including the ability to display your selected gear with SRAM eTap and Campagnolo EPS groupsets.
Now available on the 520 and 1000 computers, ANT+ shifting displays the current gear on the screen via a data field. It’s compatible with SRAM’s new Red eTap groupset and Campagnolo EPS.
The gear ratio (front gear/rear gear) can be displayed, so no more looking between your legs to see what gear you’re in. As well as that, the remaining battery life can also be turned on, so no more guessing when to charge the battery.
The Edge 1000 also gets FTP, Vo2 Max, recovery advisor metrics and watts per kilogram tracking for an even more comprehensive overview of your training.
Also available on the 1000 and 520 is compatibility with TrainingPeaks iLevels, individualised power levels.
Lastly, there’s further support for Garmin’s Varia smart bike lights with the Edge 510 and 810 computers.

I wonder if they’ll now fix
I wonder if they’ll now fix their segments problem that’s been ongoing for months?
I thought Garmin had done
I thought Garmin had done away with segments as it hasn’t worked for ever

The live segments work fine on my 510, but not while following a route. Workaround is to set the route as always displayed and then not tell the garmin you are following it.
garmin 520
Had no problems with strava live segments, but i have found the garmin live track a bit hit and miss, did about 10 consecutive rides all ok and then there was an update and although saying all connected and synced, not registering ride, reinstalled garmin connect and made sure all settings reentered and seems ok now.
