GB cyclist out of Track World Cup with concussion after he was hit by car

European Omnium champion Ethan Hayer says he's "not quite recovered" from incident earlier this month...

Great Britain track cyclist Ethan Hayter says he has been forced to miss this weekend's Track Cycling World Cup in Berlin due to concussion sustained when he was hit by a car earlier this month.

Writing on Instagram, the 20-year-old Londoner said: "Unfortunately I won't be competing at the Berlin World Cup this week as originally announced.

"Sustained a concussion at the start of the month after being hit by a car and not quite recovered.

"Plan/hope to be back racing at the London round," he added.

One of British Cycling's rising stars, Hayter won the omnium at the European Championships in Glasgow earlier this year.

On the road, he placed fifth in the Under-23 time trial and eighth in the Under-23 road race at the road world championships in Innsbruck-Tirol, and also had a spell as a stagiaire with Team Sky.
