MyCyclingWeekend - We Have a Winner

Pictures from a rather rainy #MyCyclingWeekend

Well that was a bit of a washout, but then it wasn't.

How you viewed the weekend rain depended entirely on what bike you were riding. Out of the road bike? The rain meant wet feet, poor visibility and a lot of extra clothing!

For those of us racing cyclocross though, it meant proper 'Cross conditions with plenty of sliding around in the mud!

The clever ones among you left your rides until later on Sunday when the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day.

Before we get to this week's winner, let's take a look through some brilliant entries.

CX racing can involve an annoying amount of running!

Ewan, the most serious of cyclists prioritise the coffee stop...

Oh to be riding in sunny Portugal!

Gene got a brilliant shot from Curbar Edge.

Not all CX races were a mud-bath.

Neil went where other people weren't.

A fat bike in a hill climb?

Yea, it's sunny in Malibu too...

Barry got this great shot of a long descent. Hopefully in the direction of cake?

Our winner this week is Simon. After battling the wind and rain, these views look even better! Congrats Simon, we'll be in touch.

That's it for this week, but remember to keep sending in those pics using #MyCyclingWeekend

Son of a Marathon runner, Nephew of a National 24hr Champion, the racing genetics have completely passed him by. After joining the road.cc staff in 2016 as a reviewer, Liam quickly started writing feature articles and news pieces. After a little time living in Canada, where he spent most of his time eating poutine, Liam returned with the launch of DealClincher, taking over the Editor role at the start of 2018. At the weekend, Liam can be found racing on the road both in the UK and abroad, though he prefers the muddy fields of cyclocross. To date, his biggest race win is to the front of the cafe queue.
