Unfortunately we’ve had a new 56cm Cannondale Synapse Sora AL Disc (exactly the same as the one in the image above) stolen from outside our office in Green Park Station, Bath at around 1pm this afternoon (Thursday).
The bike is brand new and doesn’t even have pedals on, so if you happened to have seen someone pushing it around Bath City Centre today please get in touch and we will update the police. The whole incident and some clear images of the male culprit were all captured on CCTV so we’re hopeful of its return; but we’d be very grateful if you might have any additional helpful information.
If you see it being ridden or pushed around or are offered it for sale, please let us know at info@road.cc and/or contact Avon and Somerset Police with the crime reference number: 5218101342

I bet it was that brazen fellow in a hoodie and with bolt croppers slung nonchalantly over his shoulders. The bastard.

I’d second this. Just for reference, real life situation and all that: what lock were you using, and how did the thief remove it?
“clear images of the male
“clear images of the male culprit”
You couldn’t post those, clearly, but some photos of a potential witness who might have information relevant to the investigation might be less subjudicial…

I don’t think there is anything wrong with posting pictures taken in a public place?

Generally you are right, but implicating the person in a crime is different. You’d have to post it and say something like “to eliminate from our enquiries” ….probably
Won’t be a real biker that
Won’t be a real biker that stole it, if it’s running Sora 😉
Keep your eyes on Shpock as
Keep your eyes on Shpock as well as Gumtree and Ebay. Shpock seems to have more than its fair share of dodgy looking bike ads.

How can you say that?
I’m always finding fixie bikes I’d forgotten about under a pile of leaves with my leaf blower.
Call it what it is, if you’ve
Call it what it is, if you’ve got footage of someone wheeling away your bike without your permission. It’s theft, or maybe TWOC, if that exists for bikes?
didn’t something similar
didn’t something similar happen last year, only wasn’t that bike a little more desirable. I don’t suppose I could send you a copy of my list of bikes I want to add to my collection… in the hope you know you might get them in for test and… leave them outside while you just pop into the office to check twatter or feacesbook.
