Soreen backs static cycling record bid

Manchester Velodrome the venue for world record attempt

An electric atmosphere is guaranteed when cyclists attempt to smash a world record at the Manchester Velodrome next month.

Starting on Friday October 1, makers of fruity malt loaf Soreen are running a charity event which will attempt to bring the record to Britain by hitting a target of 18,000 watt hours. For every watt hour produced on the 50 state-of-the-art kilowatt bikes during the attempt, Soreen will donate 5p to towards The Christie – one of Europe’s leading cancer centres – in an attempt to raise over £10,000 for the charity.

Participation is free and you can enter as an individual or as part of a team with slots of  as little as 30 minutes available. There will be goodie bags, three bike to be won by the top-generating individuals, a prize draw of a holiday for four and the prospect of Guinness world record certificates if a new mark is set. You can register on line here.
