Police yesterday escorted two drunk cyclists wearing Santa hats off a motorway in Worcestershire.
While many people across the country were enjoying their Christmas lunch yesterday, officers from the Central Motorways Police Group hey had been ere escorting the pair off the M5.
They had been spotted riding their bikes on the northbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 6.
It might be Christmas but you still can't cycle on a motorway, currently dealing with two cyclists wearing hats on #M5 maybe next Christmas they could ask for some common sense #unbelievable pic.twitter.com/KKoA2RNfDS

Officers added: "They are both rather intoxicated too & lucky that we got to them before a collision occurred."
They did not mention what action, if any, would be taken against the cyclists.
Over the course of Christmas Day, officers from the unit also escorted a drunk pedestrian from the same stretch of motorway, and also caught a number of motorists who had been drinking.
