We asked you on Friday why you head out to ride every #mycyclingweekend - we even offered a fantastic Cycle Surgery bundle to whoever came up with the best reason. You lot answered in your troves, so today we're going to share some of our favourites with you.
We told you on Friday that there was no right or wrong reason for riding. Hell, amongst our eclectic mix of riders within Team road.cc there's very little common ground between us - at least as to why we ride.
Some of us like to race, some of us commute, others ride to escape, most of us ride to stay fit, and a few of us do it for that bit of weekend social time. There's not one, unifying reason that gets us in the saddle, and each and every reason is as valid as the one before it.
That simple fact made choosing a winner very difficult. Which reason is the best?
Well, one user made it easy. Instagram user Jonthebikelord impressed us, not only with his photo editing skills and general lordship over all things bicycle, but with his reasons for riding every #mycyclingweekend; reasons we think everyone can relate to.
First up is the photo that caught our eye, which is followed by the photo that features his excellent explanation as to why he pulls on his lycra and pumps out the miles every #mycyclingweekend.
Congratulations John, keep your eyes peeled for a comment on your photo that should give you the low-down on how to claim your prize!
John was far from the only rider this week to come up with a fantastic and perfectly valid reason to get in the saddle every weekend.
Instagram user bluesbabey - also known as Julia according to her profile - sent in this photo. We enjoyed our #mycyclingweekend rides, although we can't help but think we'd have enjoyed it more had we been there.
Another instagram user, daveyraveygravey1, went out to break all the rules - an endeavor we wholeheartedly support.
Apparently it's against the rules to wear overshoes and shorts in the same outfit. Who knew? We also appreciate the hairy leg look!
A few of us like to battle the elements, and reap the rewards of spectacular views. gazza1985 and loveroye look like they're both cyclists of that ilk. Stunning photos, guys!
Meanwhile either Instagram user shinwellhouse, or their riding partner, showed what battling with the elements can do to you. Bravo for the effort!
Battling the elements is all well and good, but sometimes it's nice to have a bit of a breather - which is exactly what our two main men Dave Atkinson and Tony Farrelly are doing over in Italy for road.cc Italy Week.
Every year we invite you guys to join us at the Hotel Belvedere, in the gorgeous Riccione over in Italy - Which is where they are at the moment.
Of course, a number of you also wrote in about your Paris-Roubaix themed weekends. Imitating the pros is something we all indulge in from time to time, and a number of you managed to do just that by heading out to France to take in the race.
Not all of you were so lucky, but you managed to find your own slice of cobbled fun where you were - a few of you were more imaginative than others. Yes, we're looking at you Chris Lawson! Chapeau.
If uploading your #mycyclingweekend photo slipped your mind over the weekend, it's not too late to send them in - if it's something special we'll no doubt feature your photo in our pre-#mycyclingweekend piece on Friday.
To get your photo to us, simply upload it to Instagram or Twitter, remembering to include the #mycyclingweekend hashtag. If you want to enter next week's Cycle Surgery competition, don't forget to include the #cyclesurgery hashtag!
Happy riding, folks!
I do wonder if Mr Dickenson has ever cycled just to get from A to B as opposed to training/racing.
