Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

The moment ex-Premier League footballer crashes car into shop

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-65316655

The video comes days after Graham admitted to being almost three times over the alcohol limit when he smashed his Land Rover into a Co-op store in County Durham last November.

4,000 - 4,000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire was the answer we were looking for. So it's a rollover for our two tickets to the Diddley Squat farm shop/ not at all a theme park.

Visitors have the choice from our collection of farm experiences of receiving a death threat or being punched by the man himself.

I hope the driver is okay - did they find them in a korma?

Special one for road.cc staff - car wedged on side outside the Francis Hotel in Bath.

Apparently the car "left the road" mysteriously and somehow got itself stuck.  Luckily a "young adult male" was able to be rescued...

More at Somerset live.

Clearly an "accessibility" issue - if they'd have made the stairs wider the car would no doubt have freed itself...

Shocking - no mention of whether the hotel had daytime lights on.

imagine my disappointment when I read "Drivers 'over the moon' with Bridgnorth Cliff Railway repair work finally set to start" I thought for one moment that motorists were for once happy about something

Why would reducing parking lessen the chances of a drink/drug driver being able to destroy a home?

Surely the parking of vehicles will act as a buffer to crashing and also act to slow some drivists.

"He was going in reverse so his speed was -80mph, a full 100mph below the speed limit."

You can't  have a speed of -80mph, it would be a velocity of -80mph

Yes, TfL later stated:

Quote:

There were no injuries to passengers or members of the public when a bus collided with a building in Chelsea this afternoon, but the bus driver sustained a minor injury and has been taken to hospital as a precaution. We are supporting the police and operator’s investigation into what happened.

Apparently the car went straight through the restaurant and into the bathrooms - police found him vindaloo.

Well I once left the landing light on - when I woke up the bedroom was full of aeroplanes.

Yes, street parking is the only bit of voluntary self-regulation drivers do for themselves at scale. Bad call, Cllr Nunn.

Whenever I find my phone doesn't work in a hotel room, I just head to the lobby as the reception is there.

Nah. The airbags went off. He said it was like headbutting a pilau.

It was on the pavement, like I definitely see happening 4 or 5 times a day.

PS I. guess they've found a way safely to operate without the use of that fire escape?

Aha! *That* is the real reason that being able to accelerate is a "safety feature"! "In the event of fire, break glass (windscreen) and accelerate out of danger..."

"Accelerate out of danger" - one of my fave phrases - a bit like saying "stuff we import will get cheaper if we make it harder to import it."
