Whats your budget? i.e. what are you willing to pay for a pair of cycling shorts?
Two brands I'm happy to push are Chapeau and Primal... both are pushing out quality products at reasonable (if not exactly budget) price points.
To be honest, I don't really know. I've got some Endura tights which are OK - think they were about £50 odd. Most decent thing I own is Endura FS260 Jetstream III jersey which is brilliant - paid about £65 for that.
This is largely the problem - because I don't know what brands are associated with quality I don't really know what's a low/mid/high price to pay for anything!

And another word Decathlon I use their kit as I am a fat git and need 3xl but (IMO) the quality for the price is good and you can get it to match just not fashionable. But as you may have guessed I don't do fashion
