West Yorkshire’s oldest cycling club Calder Clarion is running two events for children and adults wanting to give racing a try.
The Calder Clarion Track and Turf GoRide Racing events take place on a tarmac track in Bradford and cyclocross course at the scout camp in West Bretton and are open to both members and non-members.
Sunday 17 July from noon – cyclocross event on turf at Scout Camp, West Bretton, Wakefield. Participants will complete a single lap time trial, followed by a multi-lap race. This is followed by a mixed relay event.
The cyclocross event in July is also a family social event, with a barbecue and other refreshments on offer. Last year many families stayed to watch and cheer on the children and adults in their races. It fosters a great sense of team fellowship and is also great fun to take part in.
Everyone is welcome – even if you just want to watch and find out more about Calder Clarion and the GoRide children’s club. The two events are run as a series but equally cyclists can just attend one event if they prefer.
We ask that all participants bring their own bike in good condition and also wear a helmet.
