If the creators of the Tour Series were looking for a way to engage riders and whet their appetite for the main event they have successfully pulled it off.
The Travel Choice TT that will preceed the Peterborough round of the series next Thursday will be entertaining to watch and a chance of a lifetime for most of us amateurs.
We get use of the circuit for an hour and have (in true Grand Prix stylee) two flying laps, the aggregate time for which will determine our overall position.
It is something different for the club rider who is used to midweek 10’s (not that there is anything wrong with that) and an opportunity to test our skills on a closed city centre circuit.
With so much being said about road racing struggling to get police support and this blog itself joining the debate on cyclists safety in recent weeks you have to applaud the people behind the Tour Series for this opportunity.
