Spanish professional cycling team Movistar will switch from Pinarello to Canyon bikes in 2014, in a move that sees the German manufacturer increasing its presence in the pro peloton to two teams, continuing to support Katusha.

Pictures have been released this week of the newly livered Canyon bikes with Movistar logos. The team will continue to use Campagnolo groupsets and matching wheels. The Spanish team have retained Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana for next season.

The company will continue to sponsor Katusha, in a deal that has been running since 2012, making them one of only a few brands to sponsor more than one team, the others being Specialized and Scott. Canyon have been in the pro peloton since 2007, when they first entered the pro peloton with Unibet.com, before partnering with Omega Pharma-Lotto in 2009.

We’ll start to see a lot of the new 2014 team bikes and kit over the following weeks as most teams are currently at their first training camps where they’ll dishing out new equipment for the riders to start training on in preparation for next season. So watch this space, we'll keep you updated.
