Earlier this year, I gave my test pair a great review, highlighting the huge amount of tech in the shoe. The best feature, I think, is the ability to customise the fit of the shoes by heat-molding them. This really creates a tub around the foot, resulting in a very stiff pedaling platform and plenty of comfort.

Bont says that the Riot delivers “competition-level fit and construction with a micro-adjustable buckle and Velcro retention system”.

It’s certainly a bold claim, but one that stands up when you look at the other road shoe options around the Riot’s £99 price point. Nothing else remotely close offers customisable fit and it’d be hard to find the stiffness levels either.
