Two servicemen who cycled from Swansea to London sleeping rough along the way have run the London Marathon today, raising over £4,000 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
Lee West wrote on their JustGiving page:
“This time we are preparing for the London Marathon in the worst possible way. We are cycling from Swansea to London over 5 days.
“Each day we will pick a large town or city and live rough as always.
“This year we cannot spend any of the begging money on food so will only rely on the generosity of the public to feed & water us. We will spend night 6 & 7 in London and wake up feeling rough as toast to compete in the 2017 London Marathon.
“Wish us luck as we need it.”

The pair, Royal Engineer Paul O’Dwyer and Royal Marine Lee West, have been fundraising for years. In 2014 they slept rough on the streets of Swansea for seven nights to raise money and awareness for SSAFA.
Their ‘Trampface’ challenges have raised tens of thousands over the years.
