This competition is now closed and we have a Winner!

Congratulations to Bianca Cranmer

The Rider Firm will be in contact with you shortly to sort out your prize.

For everybody else who entered, thank you, and better luck next time.

It’s almost Easter and we have a fantastic competition linked to an amazing feature that we are running with Carin Cycles and the recently announced King Alfred’s Way route.

We’ve teamed up with our good friend’s The Rider Firm, owners of Cairn Cycles and Hunt Bike Wheels, and Italian bikepacking experts Miss Grape, to offer one lucky reader a set of Hunt 4 Season Gravel X-Wide disc Wheels worth £359 and a set of Miss Grape bikepacking bags worth £350! Sounds great, the perfect upgrade for your gravel adventure!

King Alfred’s Way is a relatively new route, launched officially last year, so we wanted to see what it would take to ride part of the route on e-gravel bikes.  We’ve grabbed a Cairn E-Adventure and a new BRAVe e-bike and Miss Grape bags and set out to see how an e-Gravel bike can help with carrying more stuff on longer trips. We’ll need to pay close attention to the power indicator to manage battery life as that could reduce our fun significantly if we get it wrong. It should be quite a challenge and a lot of fun.

The Prize!

One lucky reader will receive all of the following

  • Hunt 4 Season Gravel X-Wide alloy disc wheelset worth £359
  • Miss Grape Tendril 10.7 Handlebar bag £110
  • Miss Grape 40.6 Internode frame bag £95
  • Miss Grape Cluster 13 WP under seat bag £145

Total prize value £709

Hunt 4 Season Gravel X-Wide disc Wheelset

Here’s what Hunt have to say about their wheels: “The 4 Season Gravel Disc has been a staple in our range from very early on. As a more burly version of the 4 Season Disc (owing to higher spoke count and wider rim) it was a great option for those wanting to hit the path less travelled. Fast-forward a couple of years, and the demands of gravel riding have taken on a whole new dimension, with riders seeking trails and routes you’d formerly only consider a mountain bike for. Enter the X-Wide, the wheelset designed to shine where the boundaries are blurred..”

We reviewed these wheels on our sister site road.cc where Stu found them excellent awarding them 9/10. You can read that review in full here but here’s the topline info for you: “If you ride a lot on gravel tracks and trails you want a wheelset that can take plenty of abuse, and these Hunt 4 Season Gravel Disc X-Wide wheels fit that bill brilliantly. They’re solid, dependable and lovely wheels to ride, and with their wide rim bed they work perfectly with wider gravel tyres.”

We’ve not had the chance to test much of the Miss Grape range yet, but what we have tested has all been super high quality a the top end of the market with a price to match. It’s stylish, well thought out and tough bike packing gear used by adventure riding legend Josh Ibbett on his GBDURO win in 2020.
