Entries will open at 9am on the morning of Monday 14 September for the 2016 Dragon Ride, the 13th edition of one of the UK's most popular sportives on Sunday 5 June – and if you want to be lucky enough to secure one of the 6,000 places, you'd better be quick because in previous years the event has sold out very quickly.

Next year there will be a new 100km route, the Macmillan 100, alongside the original Medio Fondo (153 km & approx. 2,095m of climbing), Gran Fondo (230km & approx. 2,060m of climbing) and Dragon Devil (305km).

The latter first introduced in 2014 and includes some of the toughest climbs South Wales has to offer such as the Rhigos, Black Mountain, Devil’s Elbow and Devil’s Staircase.

For those who want even more riding, the Dragon Tour returns – three sportives in three days from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 June, with a field of 500 riders. There's a dinner each evening of the tour plus post-ride recovery and a special guest speaker at dinner on the Saturday.

All participants are urged to try and raise as much mony as possible for the Dragon Ride 2016's official charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Places will go on sale for all events through organiser Human Race Events' website at 9am on Monday morning – good luck!
