A cyclist from the East Yorkshire town of Driffield is in critical condition in hospital after a hit and run collision with a car on Saturday morning.
Humberside police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at approximately 09:50 on Saturday, March 21 outside Yorkwold Pigpro on the road between the B1249 and Kilham, known locally as Pockthorpe Lane.
The 51-year-old man was found laying on the road by a passing motorist after the car which hit him is thought to have been driven away from the scene without the driver leaving any details.
Police say they are keen to trace the driver of a dark coloured medium sized car, possibly a saloon or hatchback, which left the scene heading towards the Kilham area moments after the incident.
The cyclist was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition with head injuries and a number of fractures to the upper body.
Anyone with information about the collision or the vehicle involved is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non-emergency number 101 referring to log 187 of 21 March 2015.
