West Yorkshire police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a cyclist after a road traffic collision on Monday, January 5.

According to the police:

The incident happened at 4.10pm on the A650 at Tingley when a red and white coloured Trek Alpha Racing Pedal Cycle was being ridden along the road in the direction of Tingley roundabout.

The bike and a black coloured Vauxhall Corsa being driven in the same direction were then in collision. As a result of the incident the cyclist – a 47 year old man – was left with serious injuries which have now proved fatal.

Sergeant Ann Drury of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: "This happened at a busy  time of day. I would appeal to any witnesses who saw the pedal cycle or the  vehicle before the collision or the collision itself who haven't yet come forward to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101."
