Dail Brailsford is to be honoured for his work with the Team GB and Team Sky members as he is handed the freedom of his home borough in Derbyshire.
BBC News reports that Brailsford, who saw those he coached cruise to stunning victories in important events including the Tour de France and 12 Olympic track and road cycling events, has been handed the freedom of Erewash, the borough containing his home town of Ilkeston.
Erewash Borough Council has only presented the award once before to the Mercian Regiment in 2007.
The ceremony won't be open to the public, but Brailsford will be handed a medal and a framed scroll by Erewash mayor Jennifer Hulls on Wednesday.
