Whilst perusing the starting list of the road.cc Fantasy Tour de France we came across a team named www.shinycufflinks.co.uk. Curious chaps that we are we duly handbrake turned the browser and shot off for a gander, to find something very shiny indeed, and the perfect gift for the dapper cyclist: bike chain cufflinks from designer Dave Faulkner.

Crafted from a link of chain and plated in sterling Silver, they certainly do look very nice indeed. You can nail your groupset colours to the mast too, with a choice of Dura Ace (new and ‘antique’ varieties – what’s that, 1991?) and Campag Record. Art imitates life here: you’ll have to shell out a bit more for the Italian kit, as apparently they take a lot longer to make and there’s a higher number of rejects. A SRAM version is in development, with a DoubleTap fastener.*

Dura Ace cufflinks will set you back £50, and it’s £70 for the Record ones. They’re available in a shiny ‘bling bling’ finish or antique oxidised look. One for the Christmas list, we think. Head on over to www.shinycufflinks.co.uk for a look…

* not really. The DoubleTap fastener that is, they are going to do a SRAM one.
