For many well-heeled cyclists there is no finer sight than a pair of Chris King hubs on a bicycle, and now the US firm has expanded its colour range by adding three new matte options for 2017.
The three new colours – Matte Emerald, Matte Jet and Matte Slate – were unveiled at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) over the weekend, and join the existing range of polished hub colour options.

While Jet and Slate are stock colours, Emerald is a limited edition colour and has been created to celebrate 40 years of collaborating with that other maker of fine high-end bicycle products, Moots. Fear not, you don’t need a Moots to justify buying this colour option, but you will have to act quickly as they are only taking orders up until June this year. If you want them best to get on the blower to your local bike shop sharpish.

We’ve no word on UK availability or pricing just yet, but when we know we’ll update this story. There’s no sign of matching headsets to go with the hubs, but surely it can only be a matter of time?
What do you think of the new colours?
