10-minute film from organisers RCS Sport whisks through all 21 stages

Here's a cracking video from Giro d'Italia organisers RCS Sport that in the space of around 10 minutes takes you through the thrills and spills of three weeks' racing and 21 stages, including Vincenzo Nibali's successfull challenge for the maglia rosa, and Mark Cavendish clinching five stage wins on his way to the points jersey. Besides showcasing Italy's beautiful scenery, it also has all the stage winners... well, nearly all of them.

Movistar's Alex Dowsett, who went off before the live TV feed kicked off in the Stage 8 individual time trial, makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance on his bike in the British champion's jersey, while Vini Fantini's Mauro Santambrogio, revealed after the race to have tested positive for EPO, has been artfully edited out of Stage 15, which he won.

Definitely worth 10 minutes of any cycling fan's time.

Born in Scotland, Simon moved to London aged seven and now lives in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with his miniature schnauzer, Elodie. He fell in love with cycling one Saturday morning in 1994 while living in Italy when Milan-San Remo went past his front door. A daily cycle commuter in London back before riding to work started to boom, he's been news editor at road.cc since 2009. Handily for work, he speaks French and Italian. He doesn't get to ride his Colnago as often as he'd like, and freely admits he's much more adept at cooking than fettling with bikes.
