Super-cheap cycling deals from Lidl

Following Aldi’s ultra-cheap merino, it’s Lidl’s turn to stun with low prices

Lidl cycling offers

If Aldi’s bizarrely cheap merino tops impressed you, check out the latest offers at fellow ‘hard discounters’ Lidl, where a pannier bag set (comprising not one, not two, but three bags) could be yours for a mere £14.99.

Or perhaps you’d prefer a tool kit, complete with Allen keys, screwdrivers and puncture repair kit among other things, for £4.99.

Other super-cheap offers on the Lidl site include a mini foot pump for £3.99 (with a pressure gauge that, perhaps slightly optimistically, goes to 170psi), cycle computers for £3.99 and a workstand for £29.99.

There is, of course, the old ‘get what you pay for’ argument, but at these prices it’s hard to care too much about that…

And a £5 off when you spend £30 voucher in the Daily Star this week!

Downhill bikes don't make you cool.

I bought one of the workstands yesterday and it actually seems to be pretty sturdy. It's obviously not up to same standard as the top Park stands but for the occasional home mechanic it's perfect Smile

Bought a couple of tops recently for less than a tenner. Not the highest quality but usually have the flatlock stitching, rubber grippers and a variety of pockets making them ideal for the daily commute.

Got a pair of the gloves yesterday. They're not bad.

I was only saying to Tony earlier today that the cheapo Lidl repair kit that I got last year was "great" and "the kit was all pretty good quality"...then I got home tonight and lo and behold one of the plastic tyre levers snapped clean in half.

I'll give them this; they've engineered the planned obsolescence of their products down to an absolute tee Wink

Looks like a trip to Lidl is on the cards...
