Dear Santa ... may I have an R2D2 cycle helmet? (+ video)

Bell collaborates with Lucas Film on Star Wars range

Star Wars is going to be big news this Christmas, what with Episode VII: The Force Awakens due to hit cinemas in December. So if you're buying presents for a kid who is into not only the goings-on a long time ago in a galaxy far far away but also cycling, what better gift than this R2D2 cycle helmet made by Bell and spotted in Walmart?
Star Wars star Harrison Ford snapped riding Genesis bike in London

Okay, you may not have a branch of the world's biggest retailer round the corner (though they do own Asda) but you can find the helmet online – there are some going on eBay here, though there are some differences to the one in the video.

Bell is collaborating with Lucas Film on a limited edition range of helmets, so if you'd rather be a stormtrooper or Boba Fett or even Darth Vader than a cheeky little droid that gives you backchat  in beeps, they have that covered too …

Giro and Bell embrace MIPS for 2016 with updated cycling helmet ranges

Now that's nice, but I'd rather have one of these.  It's already got lights and a camera fitted!

An operational one would be very handy for those close passes, punishment passes and SMIDSYs!
