Cannock Chase, a popular trail centre just 40 minutes from Birmingham, is the location for this year’s Commonwealth Games cross-country mountain bike race that takes place on 3 August.

Cannock Chase was announced as the Commonwealth Games venue already in 2018 and had some new facilities opened just last month, including Perry’s Trail which is the main trail in the competition, and a Pedal and Play area for younger cyclists.

This year’s competition marks the fifth time mountain biking is included in the Commonwealth Games. Since Tom Pidcock’s victory in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the sport has attracted an ever-increasing number of spectators, and the 2,500 tickets to Cannock Chase have already sold out.

Ticket-holders will have exclusive access to a viewing area near the start/finish of the race and a pass-out system will be available for them to access the trail viewing areas.
