Copenhagen 2011: French 1-2 in Men's U23 road race, but Fenn gets another medal for GB

France's Arnaud Demare clinches win ahead of compatriot Adrien Petit...

Great Britain's Andy Fenn has clinched the country's fifth medal of the 2011 UCI Road World Championships in Copenhagen, clinching third place behind the French pair of Arnaud Demare and Adrien Petit.

Fenn, who will be racing for Omega Pharma-Quick Step in 2012 after spending this season with An Post-Sean Kelly and a past winner of Junior Paris-Roubaix, was unable to counter the French pair's charge for the line in the uphill drag to the finish, but he did manage to hold off Germany's Rudiger Selig to take bronze.

The main bunch had come back together ahead of a frantic final lap of the 14 kilometre closing circuit in the 168 kilometre race, with a series of crashes, thankfully none of them serious ahead of the finale.
