Just. Get. It. Right. #5

If you're going to shoot yourself in the foot it's best to do it with style and grace in front of the whole world, and then do it again.

A collaboration between a cycle clothing manufacturer famous for its eye for style and detail and some masters of framebuilding designed to highlight craft and passion. Quality exotica guaranteed. And heritage, don't forget the heritage. Tick.

And maybe just a wonderful PR opportunity that will be regurgitated ad infinitum across screens and print. Tick.

A partnership between one of the best steel bike tube fabricators in the world and a frame and component manufacturer with a pedigree as long as the Stelvio. Tick

A limited edition frame run made out of rare steel tubing, all finished off with an exclusive paint job.Tick.

Taking the bike out the back of the van, putting the front wheel back in for the photos and forgetting to slide the quick-release spigotti across on the Campagnolo brake so the left-hand lever sticks out like the broken wing of a crow. Strike though several times with a green biro.

See me afterwards. And we can have a talk about that ridiculous bar angle as well.

And while were pointing the shotgun at our toes, let's have another go.

Persuade a frame-builder with a reputation for combining craftsmanship with some of the latest materials and technology into producing a frame, dribble it with the kind of detailing that you're famous for and supply it with top-drawer components. Tick.

Forget to correct the spigotti again so both brake levers are jutting out this time, making the bike look like it's doing the Can-Can. Detention and three whacks of the cane.

And clean your shoes, they're disgusting.

Jo Burt has spent the majority of his life riding bikes, drawing bikes and writing about bikes. When he's not scribbling pictures for the whole gamut of cycling media he writes words about them for road.cc and when he's not doing either of those he's pedaling. Then in whatever spare minutes there are in between he's agonizing over getting his socks, cycling cap and bar-tape to coordinate just so. And is quietly disappointed that yours don't He rides and races road bikes a bit, cyclo-cross bikes a lot and mountainbikes a fair bit too. Would rather be up a mountain.

Looking at the first picture of the Cinelli the top tube appears to drop towards the head tube whereas most modern frames drop towards the seat tube. Does it, and if so what's the point?

Looking at the second picture the effect is still the same even with the front wheel closer to the photographer.

Is this the new 'Rapha Heritage' design and will all other manufacturers be following it soon. 4

Just maybe the photographer drew inspiration from black grouse courting? But the Cinelli does look like a crow with a broken wing.
