You are our lucky 4 winners of the winter essential kit and you'll be hearing from HTP soon.
For everybody else, better luck next time, and thank you for entering.
Last week’s competition was all about staying warm and riding inside... but if you’re like me and you’d prefer to be outside battling the elements on your bike, then this week’s prizes from Hydra Tech Pro (HTP) will be right up your street.
HTP is giving away four packs of winter essential kit, consisting of the classy Pioggia overboots, Pioggia leg warmers, long sleeve base layer, and neck tube. Each pack is worth £132.47, and there are male and female options available.
Hydra Tech Pro’s aim is to create a wet weather cycling wear system; and with its cycling roots firmly in the soil of the North West of England, it’s no surprise that the brand understands the demands that being out on your bike in the cold and wet weather puts on your kit.
Here’s a quick summary of what you’ll win:
Pioggio Winter Overboot (£44.99)
Pioggio Leg Warmers (£39.99)|
L/S Base Layer (£32.50)
Thermal Neck Tube (£14.99)
Total prize value: £132.47 for each winner
Here's some more information on each of these pieces of kit:
Pioggio Winter Overboots
Made with Windtex thermal fleece-lined fabric, which HTP says is waterproof and windproof, this overboot has been designed for those wet and windy winter rides. The Pioggia overboot provides windchill defence with a thermal fleece lining to ensure insulation, and combat the cold temperatures.
The overboot also features taped seams, a waterproof zipper, and a high cuff with silicone grippers which helps keep the rain and cold at bay. Along with water resistance and an aerodynamic fit, this boot also offers all the protection you will need for the coldest days, while still looking stylish.
Features:
- Windtex windproof thermal fleece lined fabric
- Water Repellent
- Breathable
- High winter cuff with silicone gripper
- Waterproof zipper
- Kevlar heel and toe protection and durability
- Close aerodynamic fit
- Reflective side and heel logo & detail
- Seams are glued and stitched for added protection
- Road cleat cut-out
road.cc has recently reviewed the HTP Pioggio Overboots, with Anna rating them highly for comfort and a fantastic close fit and awarding them an 8/10 in her review. Here are a couple of quotes: "These Pioggia Winter Overshoes are ideal those who crave kit in a race cut but want the warmth of a bulkier overshoe.
"With the thermal fleece lining on the inside – that is super-soft to touch – the close fit of these overshoes is really comfortable” .

Pioggia Leg Warmers
Designed and manufactured in the UK with the best Italian performance fabric, HTP says these leg warmers feature a perfectly ergonomic shaped fit, with silicone grippers on both the upper thigh and lower ankle. Unlike most leg warmers these have been designed to fit on top of the overboot, with the silicone gripper and snug fit ensuring the leg warmer remains in place throughout. HTP has also incorporated a dual-sided silicone leg gripper at the top to prevent unwanted movement.
Features:
- Thermal, Water repellent and Windproof Italian Fabric
- Moisture transfer
- Tailored, ergonomically shaped left and right leg fit
- Light compression for muscle support
- Non-slip silicone leg grippers, 45mm top and 25mm bottom
- Dual-sided top silicone gripper
Long Sleeve Base Layer
HTP says the long sleeve base layer is the perfect go-to for cool early morning rides, or evening runs. The seamless "3D fit" multi-sport performance long sleeve top offers seamless technology, stretch fit and attractive detailing.
Features:
- Seamless, stretchy wicking fabric
- Ribbed hem, cuffs and round collar
