Prime RP-50 Carbon Clincher Wheels - Chain Reaction Cycles

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/prime-rp-50-carbon-clincher-wheelset-...

Does anybody have any experience of these? I'm after a set of deep section hoops for my bike, and these look like they would do the job lovely - although as they are brand new to CRC, no reviews as yet.

I don't want to open the aero vs lightweight worm can, suffice to say the deeper section rims look cool and thats why I want them!

They look excellent value when you consider the weight, construction and price - but google doesnt really reveal much more about them. A friend has just pulled the trigger on some 45mm cosinnes from wiggle, and they also look great, but the Prime ones pinch it on weight.

I'd appreciate any more info if anyone has it!

I've been riding the RP-50 clinchers and so far loving them. Switched from DT Swiss RR1450's which in themselves are a great wheelset and wasn't sure I'd get on with such a deep section on 'normal' runs. However, what you lose on climbs you more than make up for over the distance of a complete run.

The hubs are basically a modified Novatec so really servaible, pretty bomb proof and smooth but I guess testing them through the winter will really tell a tale. The braking track is a standard carbon afare, not bad in the dry especially with the supplied bracko pads but carbon is never going to shine in wet conditions.

Overall these are a great wheelset and have surpassed my expectations, and for the money, well what can you say.

thanks for that, i would have missed it!

it seems they have impressed -I'm hoping for a more on depth review soon.

If I do get them I'll be sure to let you know, probably 6 weeks or so away from 'permision' but I've just realised the british cycling 10% makes them even more attractive!

Cycling Weekly featured these on a video that i saw this morning. must be brand new as they hadn't ridden them yet either, but were talking positively about them.

if you get them any comments about them would be great - as i am looking at upgrading soon.
