The Spanish guy coming over to the NEC is hiring a bike - http://www.onyourbike.com/stylesheet.asp?file=6_1_1_about_our_cycle_hire
Thanks for the info, and really interesting site, sadly I couldn't get a train that got me where I needed to be on time so I'm flying down. Was looking forward to riding somewhere new too!
The Grand Union canal goes quite close. Coventry Road is very busy. Bordesley Green East might be worth trying but i'm not sure where access to NEC is near Marston Green. See http://birminghamcyclist.ning.com/group/commuting (scroll down)
PS> I have done a cyclestreets enquiry, but just wanting some context to go with the map!
