Video: Dutch entrepeneur rides from Amsterdam to London - and brings his cats

Felines attend opening of 'Poop-up' cat supplies shop in Old Street...

A Dutch entrepreneur rode 300 miles from Amsterdam to London to open a temporary shop for his pet supplies business – and took his two cats with him.

Thomas Vles arrived in the British capital on Sunday after pedalling his ‘kittymobile’ more than 300 miles with his cats, Mushi and Cheesy.

His company Poopy Cat makes disposable cardboard litter trays and modular cat playhouses.

The trip was undertaken to open a one-day-only ‘Poop-up’ store at Old Street Underground station, and there's more about the journey on the company's Facebook page.

The moggies, Mushi and Cheesy, weren’t just coming along for the ride – they’re employees of Vles’s business, Poopy Cat.

They and a number of their feline friends work as product testers at its offices in Amsterdam – as well as clambering over keyboards and generally getting in the way, judging by this video.

For anyone concerned about the animals’ welfare on their trip to London, as Poopy Cat explained in reply to a comment on YouTube:

Thanks for your concerns! Our trip has been supported by two vets, the cats were and are always priority number one. We kept a good eye on them, if we saw for one second that they were not comfortable in any way, we made sure them could go inside (for example in the attendant car).
