It’s hard to get excited about a base layer, but this one has some endearing features that make me a fan. Simple things like flat seams and putting the care label on the outside of the garment demonstrate that the designers have through about its function.

I put this through a cold autumn hill climb and long descent in the shaded Welsh valleys. It wicked away moisture on the way up, and kept me nice and toasty on the long way down (if only I’d remembered my overshoes and my feet would have been the same!) It stayed dry and warm all day and although l look forward to seeing how well it performs in the midst of winter, I’m hoping for a few more of these bright autumn days!

Turtle neck and soft fabric feels nice around my neck and fits nicely under the same neck line as my other jerseys.

Goes in the wash with all my normal darks and has come out as good as new so far. Suspect this will be well used this winter and fits really nicely under all my long and short sleeve jerseys.

I’m a size 12 and my jersey is a medium, but I could probably get away with a small.
