Try one first. It can certainly help if one of you is a much stronger rider

It hardly matters as the whole topic is a fraud by the arch-fantasist

I am impressed by the fault

I am impressed by the fault tolerance of Shimano (and quite likely Campag and SRAM as well, but I have no experience)- my 9-speed Sora with knackered cassette, chainrings and super-knackered chain should be well onto its last legs, but it’s still changing well, and only last week coped with a trailer towing trip up to the Lakes. I’ve had the replacements ready for years, for when it becomes intolerable

When are the police going to

When are the police going to deal with the real criminals and stop picking on innocent people driving cars with no MOT, no insurance…?

Agreed! Lancashire Constabulary has wisely not fallen into this nit-picking time-wasting lefty woke trap! YL06 YYW was only 1 of 3 ‘No MOT’ vehicles detected in the same minute on 28th January, and reported the same day. Proudly, LC has done nothing about any of them

so we can just not see posts

so we can just not see posts from the people with nothing constructive to add that only come here to stir shit

I suppose this would make things marginally easier, but it really is simple to ignore comments from the usual, very obvious suspects and comments responding to them, and topics initiated by them!

I was hoping they’d do the

I was hoping they’d do the test for prostate cancer (the blood one, not the finger up the bum one)

You should be hoping they don’t ‘do the test for prostate cancer’. There are good reasons there is no NHS Prostate Cancer Screening Program like the excellent NHS one for bowel cancer. The Health Check is almost completely crowd-pleasing junk, except for BP and diabetes tests. The smokers will be obvious on sight and will continue to smoke until their first heart attack or stroke, and often after- if they survive it

    Police powers to remove
Police powers to remove driving licences from dangerous drivers
The police already have sufficient powers to prosecute a large range of driving offences, from RLJs to No MOT to handheld mobile use while driving. Many forces can’t be bothered/ choose not to use them. Those forces will do nothing with new powers either

    A smartphone set to handsfree

A smartphone set to handsfree is always fully legal, especially when held in the hand

This is sorcery! This HC must have been brought into use on 1st January here in Lancashire

    Here it is. Garstang Road

Here it is. Garstang Road Rage nutter or

Roundabouts? Where we’re going we don’t need roundabouts

    https://upride.cc/incident/ve17wzv_insignia_nearheadonroadrage/

And a 2022 close pass, by a vehicle which has now been without MOT for almost 6 months…of course, with driving like this, the vehicle could have been written off

meet a horse, it gets put

meet a horse, it gets put down

I recall a video linked on here in which riders are proceeding along the left side of the road, and the horse is hit hard by a speeding oncoming car which fails to round a left hand bend. I seem to remember, but I’m not sure, that the driver received the usual joke penalty but I can’t remember the fate of the poor horse.

    I bit

    I bit

That’s nowt for Lancashire! I’ve just identified 3 No MOT vehicles on the road inside one minute. The first is black Focus YL06 YYW, then Passat VE06 NWZ and Passat SA10 EWM- all in 10:47 minute, 28.1.23, and the Passats were consecutive oncoming cars passing me. You may think no wonder the police ignore them all with ‘everybody does it’, but my view is no wonder there are so many when the police ignore them all

    I’ve been told that

I’ve been told that recumbents are like kryptonite for them and are guaranteed to give them a bad trip

I was blamed for frightening a horse which was coming down a steep country lane when I was walking up it with my trailer when I was on the Pennine Bridleway, and similarly blamed on my trailer-laden way up to the Lakes because the little yellow triangular ‘Bob’ plastic flag mounted on a fibreglass pole on the trailer was a ‘dangerous hazard’ for horses

    cyclists should be made to

cyclists should be made to display a number plate etc

Why not a law that they have to possess a certificate of roadworthyness renewed every year, and some sort of yearly tax on the vehicle, enforced by the police and some national agency?

The last two show that even if you commit the same offence at the same place 2 days apart, Lancashire Constabulary still lets you off with them. The first one is almost the same place- a real offence hotspot.
