Erm does it spin freely with the QR done up? The wheels are square in the drop out? Brake rub? Unlikely it’s the wheels on two bikes have you actually ridden them?  New grease so could make them slightly tight for the first few miles.

Had a similar problem on my RS81 shimano front wheel. All the spokes were under even tension so dropped a spot of lube on each spoke nipple and also the oiled the skewer.  I think it was probably actually the skewer it had been off the bike and I’d had no issues the day before.

Not something ive ever investigated as im all 11 speed but a bit of googling……

If you have a firmware installed that is later than the one listed in the link you can’t go back and you will need to go 100% 11 speed. 11 speed durace and ultegra are interchangeable.

I’m not sure why they don’t

I’m not sure why they don’t do a time and distance minimum.  Some really popular routes should be locked out so no more additional segments can be created.  Last time I rode in Surrey it was stupid the number of overlapping segments.

    Don’t see the problem really
Don’t see the problem really other than her own issues on the other two tests.

The one she missed and appealed sounded like a lazy tester to me. She was tested the very next day during event testing.

On the other two failures the way i understand it is you have to inform wada or ukada 3 months in advance which you can change later. I could see that happening alot with people forgetting to change it. I couldnt write a calender 3 months in advance every single day can you? Cyclingtips have an interview with someone who does this kind of testing for a living very good read.

Only way is to ride them both

Only way is to ride them both. What’s your current bike? Anybody could ride either but everyone will feel different about which is better for them.

Synapsis is more relaxed so taller head tube and I’d imagine shorter reach. The Caad is more agresive (same as my Supersix I think) so shorter head tube and slightly longer reach.  Then you add the difference in material and you’ve got even more differences.

Personally I’ve not had any difference going from a relaxed geo to a more aggressive one but you may be different. I can ride my 6 all day and still be fine.

Can’t comment on either trainer but chexk out dc rainmaker. Sky were riding an unanounced kickr which may launch at eurobike. The tax neo has also had a major software update that works with zwift to add textured surface simulation.

Scary isn’t it! I used to ride a hill a lot which wasn’t particularly fast and I could guarantee by the bottom of it it’d have white buckles. I did figure out what was going on but still prefer not to go down it even though I decend far steeper these days. Nearly went under a bus once.
First instinct is it’s the bike must be something wrong but in general it’s not the bike it’s you. I kept on thinking the bike must be too big but the reality (after a conversation with a bike fitter) was my weight was to far rearward. The rippled road surface would induce it but shifting weight forward cured it. Really difficult to move your weight forward when your scared but practice on something less challenging and relax. If you can work up to decending in the drops and putting all your weight on the pedals not the seat to lower your CG. I’ve only started doing this for the last couple of seasons but it’s great fun especially on the brakes into corners I’m still not as fast as many but I have fun and feel safer which is most important.

If it’s anything like the freehub on my 5’s you need to remove the circlip From inside the body to knock the outside bearing through.  Not sure why they say these freehub  aren’t serviceable really easy to do for less than a tenner.  I saw a comment on wiggle from a guy who bought a new wheel set because his LBS said his fulcrum freehub wasn’t wort repairing and he might as well get new wheels. Shocking!

Not heard of any giant defy

Not heard of any giant defy front wheels exploding would have thought that would have been all over the internet seeing as Giant are one of the most popular bike brands in the world.  If you really are worried about it take it to your LBS

    I wouldn’t worry about 300

I wouldn’t worry about 300 grams  easy enough to loose 300 grams off the waist line if it bothers you that much! i’d be more interested in how they both ride carbon tends to be a bit more compliant although modern alu bikes have improved a lot.  If all else fails go with the one that looks best 🙂 the grey one in the images looks pretty good and i’m not a lover of disk bikes but i’d have that one.

I think this is a personal thing to each individual.  If I’m tense I tend to shift my weight forward which becomes uncomfortable and I have to force myself to relax and it normally passes.  As far as gloves are concerned thicker gel type gloves make my hands go numb so my only options is thin.

    I’ve just bought the C24’s

I’ve just bought the C24’s with GP4000 ii fitted and am really happy with them.  I was very tempted by the fulcrum 3’s as i have some 5’s for training and they have been bullit proof but I felt like a change.  The c24 are very smooth and seem ok with my 86kg current weight i have had some front spoke ping but as they are less the 200 miles old i’m not to worried.  Acelerating up to speed is better compared to my deep sections (1700g) and in rolling terain they feel faster.

Rubbish.  If you want to ride faster day to day and you can hold a decent speed nothing wrong with going deep section it’s a great feeling.  I don’t think I’d be investing in enve for day to day tatting around a little to rich for me but if you have the cash why not! I did look at light bikes a while back but with the long distance thing I decided not to and went another route.  The new Mavic range is looking nice might be worth a look I’m a little bit tempted by them but need to do more research first.
