Yeah It’s to do with clubs
Yeah It’s to do with clubs you belong to I work for a well known international brand who has an open club on Strava. I started getting randoms from all over the place i though it mat bw people who worked for the company but they were all over the place. One guy who kudos’d me I checked him out and on average got 300 Kudos for every ride he did. I have a feeling he was just looking for randoms to follow him.October 8, 2014 at 8:47 pm in reply to: Recommends for lower priced sunglasses with interchangeable lens for the missus #817207pablo

I have some Tenn bibshorts
I have some Tenn bibshorts the fit is ok and the build is pretty good. I find the pad a bit thick after a while it makes them a uncomfortable I use them for the work commute and short evening rides, i wouldn’t use them over a couple of hours personally. For the money i paid i can’t complain.
I have some expensive Italian bibshorts and tights and have never had any problems with the Pads/fit but have had some crap quality issues with them.pablo
Checked mine last week after
Checked mine last week after commenting on this thread no issues. It does make you wonder if it is a problem with the BB30 system or an installation/design issue with the frames.
A bearing that feels rough is obviously done and has most likely died from contamination but if creaks are happening with no rough running of the bearing I find it hard to believe the bearings failed it’s more likely to be flex in the shell/BB. Difficult to tell without having had the issues (My frames a Felt for ref)pablo

Saddle to High? I played
Saddle to High? I played around with my saddle height and had it set about 20mm above where it is now the front felt light and on a couple of occasions at speed (around 30) the bike would violently shake got to the point i would avoid a certain hill because the bike would always do it. Dropped the saddle in stages and never had a problem since the bike.pablo
You may need a long cage rear
You may need a long cage rear mech for the 11-32 cassette not sure. Changing a chain and cassette is pretty easy plenty of youtube videos explaining how to do both. The rcuk maintenance videos are fantastic for all types of maintenance and tuning. I bought some cheap tools from Decathlon unless your a pro-mechanic not worth spending much more.pablo
For one people don’t
For one people don’t understand the law and two people are twats. I love cars and bikes with a little patients we can all share. Unfortunately human nature can’t be changed.pablo
They use the latest
They use the latest generation of Bluetooth so low power usage that links to your phone. I’ve ridden 7 hours+ and still had 50% battery on my Nexus5 i’d have far less than that in a normal day of calls/emails/spotify music. The only time i’ve ever had a low battery (because i had forgot to charge my phone) My Garmin told me the battery was low! At first i thought it was my heart rate/cadence sensor but when i finally got home i had 10% battery left. The Garmin Connect phone app will work without a data plan (only syncing to the web when your phone is in wifi range of home). I use the online tracking a lot so the mrs know when to put the dinner on 🙂 you’ll definitely need a data plan for that!
The apps getting pretty good it links to MyfitnessPal for food calorie tracking and also auto syncs to Strava. Not everyones into all that stuff but very cool if you like lots of data.

Choose the equipment that
Choose the equipment that suits the situation for you not what’s fashionable.
I run 11-25 on a compact (mainly flat area) but if I know i’ve got some Cat 3 & 4 long climbs i’ll swap to my 12-30 takes five minutes to do with practice. I also have a tripple which i’ve never got on with but if i was doing a mega climb and the gearing worked out lower i’d be walking past the carbon. The only way you’ll be decent at climbing is to practice and be as light as you can.pablo
If i come up behind a car
If i come up behind a car thats going slower than me i’d think like others have said they are looking to turn or do something crazy. keep well clear.pablo
Not sure if it’s the same on
Not sure if it’s the same on bike tyres but on cars you should always be really careful at first when new. When they are made the mould is sprayed with a mould release compound which transfers to the tyre. New tyres in the rain could be interesting! I run bikes with both 23 & 25c tyres i find cornering on the 23c much harder I assume because of the smaller contact patch. I ride in the wet but am a bit of a wimp so slow down for corners which i wouldn’t even think about in the dry.pablo
I started on a scott
I started on a scott speedster bought second hand with a tripple I still use it today for commuting but it really is uncomfortable even on short rides it honestly beats the crap out of you.
I started riding when i was about 90kg and am now down to 84kg (i’m 35). The front end is pretty low and the saddle that came with it was terrible I’ve just bought a new saddle (same as on my other bike) to see if this will improve it. The scott made me decide what i didn’t want in a bike. I then bought a Felt Z series (many other manufacturers have similar geometry of varying price) over the more racy F series straight away i could spend far more time in the saddle and be much faster i’ve done 2500 miles on it in less than a year my average speed over my local test route has improved by 2mph. So to conclude try before you buy!To answer you question about gears personally i don’t see any advantages of a triple. My felt came with a compact and 11-30 rear cassette you can get up anything with that. Today I run a 11-25 but it’s pretty flat where i live I only change it when i have a really hilly sportive takes less than 5 minutes to do.
